We provide L2TP VPN now and it works with iOS 10 and macOS Sierra (10.12)

2017-December-29

As of now, vpnjack.com officially provides and supports L2TP VPN connections in addition to PPTP VPN. This news is probably most exciting for our iOS and macOS users because in September 2016 Apple dropped support for PPTP VPN in its latest version of iOS (10) and macOS (10.12 aka Sierra).

L2TP (to be more precise, L2TP over IPSec) is newer and more secure type of VPN compared to PPTP. It is a little slower though, takes a bit more processing power for its enhanced encryption and is somewhat more complicated to configure.

Here is a quick instruction of how to set up L2TP VPN on iOS 10:

Go to Settings, select Network.

Select VPN and then Add VPN Configuration.

Make sure to select L2TP as Type.

Type vpnjack.com in the Description field, vpn.vpnjack.com in the Server field, the login that you received (case sensitive!) - in the Account field, and the password that you received (case sensitive!) - in the Password field. Type vpnjack in the Secret field. Make sure that Send All Traffic is ON and RSA SecurID is OFF.

Click Done. Your VPN connection is ready. In order to connect, go to the VPN section in Settings and toggle it ON.

L2TP VPN is of course supported by a wide range of operating systems and devices. Take a look at our VPN Setup Instructions to see how to properly configure your L2TP VPN connection for your computer/device.

L2TP VPN is automatically available for all our customers, both for Premium VPN packages and for Free Trial VPN. It is entirely up to you to choose between PPTP and L2TP when configuring your vpnjack.com VPN connection.
